Academics

We take pride in our strong academic reputation. Transfiguration School adheres to New York State learning standards and the guidelines of the Archdiocese of New York. Transfiguration School provides students with instruction in all required disciplines; including science, math, technology, foreign language, art, vocal music, musical-instrument instruction, religious education, and physical education.

"Almost Four" Program

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten

Our early-childhood program consists of a full-day and half-day Pre-Kindergarten and a full-day Kindergarten. These programs introduce the foundations of literacy, math, science, and social studies, in a concrete sensory-motor environment. A child applying for Kindergarten must be 5 years of age, by December 1 of the current school year. Grades 1-5 Grades 1 through 5 are self-contained, and include art, music, physical education, and technology. Musical-instrument training begins in grade 3. Grades 6-8 Grades 6 through 8 are departmentalized, and are geared toward preparing the students for the rigors of high school.  Intensive immersion in foreign language begins in 6th grade.
