Traffic Patterns . . . Safety First
For the safety of our students, be sure you are
following the proper school-traffic pattern when entering and leaving school property. Please enter school property using
the Prospect Avenue driveway, and exit up the ramp to Martling Avenue.
Dismissal Procedures
To ensure safety in the parking lot, all walkers are dismissed to a parent/guardian in the coned-off area
by Jessica's Bench, and are asked to leave the area promptly. The yellow-striped safety-zone area in front of the school
steps must be kept clear so that teachers can walk the students to their buses.
Parking Lot Procedures Remember not to park in the first two rows nearest the building so that buses
can exit the parking lot safely. Also, parking is tight! Please don't take up more than one space. Your cooperation is
critical.

Drop-Off, Dismissal and School Parking
Contingency Plan
School Hours The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. Drop off for children is between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. We do not have supervision
at school prior to 7:45 a.m. Please do not leave students unsupervised on the school steps. School ends at 2:25 p.m.
Emails, Text messaging, IM's, Chat rooms,
MySpace These are wonderful technological
advances to keep us connected, but are dangerous tools in the hands of children who do not yet possess the judgment of an
adult about their appropriate use. Often these are used without adult supervision present, and so the tone and tenor of a
message or IM sent is not censored. Children are under the false impression that their messages are “private”
when in fact they are not. Every written message creates a trail that could have serious consequences. With this in mind,
it is imperative that your children know what is acceptable—and unacceptable—when it comes to their written and
spoken words. It is imperative that they hear this from you.
