Fundraising

Each year, school families are expected to participate in the following two mandatory fundraisers, sponsored by the Parents’ Guild:

2015-16 Calendar Raffle

  • Each school family is responsible for the sale of a minimum of 15 tickets
  • The Calendar Raffle sales drive is held during November-December
  • Calendar Raffle tickets cost $10 each
  • Daily raffle drawings are held January-March
  • Winners receive their checks via mail

$20,000 Raffle

  • The Grand Prize is $20,000
  • Each school family is responsible for the sale of a minimum of two raffle chances
  • Each chance costs $100
  • Only 400 chances are sold
  • Raffle sales begin in February and continue through mid-April
  • The drawing is held at the annual spring auction, in late April

Active Fundraisers

The Transfiguration Parents’ Guild Spring Auction is a wonderful evening that brings the entire Transfiguration School and Parish community together to benefit our school. There is no cost to attend this event! Join us for a spectacular evening, and have fun participating in the Chinese Auction, bidding on class baskets, student art projects, and enjoy the good-humored bidding of a Live Auction. The evening is capped with the $20,000 Raffle Grand Prize Drawing. Help us keep Transfiguration School strong for our children! Show your support by joining us for this great night out and enjoy light fare, music, open bar, and-of course-wonderful company.

Innisbrook Sale 2015

Our annual Innisbrook Wrapping paper sale is a winning proposition. In 2014 and 2015, as a result of your efforts, we sold a tremendous amount of goods and significantly increased our family participation from the previous year! We hope to meet or exceed those totals this year!

Once again, our 10 highest sellers will have the honor of “silly stringing” Mrs. Fonte and the top three classes with the highest participation rate will participate in our Fourth Annual Pig Race to be held during Catholic Schools Week.

The Annual Scholastic Book Fair!

The Scholastic Book Fair is becoming one of our greatest traditions here at Transfiguration School. In addition to being a fantastic reading event, a percentage of Book Fair proceeds go right back to Transfiguration School, to help achieve our annual fundraising goals. It is one of the easiest ways to raise funds for the school. And, gift wrapping is available which the 8th Graders do as a Community Service project.

Explore a large selection of books

There is something for everyone: classics that every child would enjoy; award-winning fiction; picture, easy reader, and chapter books; bestsellers and popular series favorites, such as Harry Potter, and I Spy; special value books—some as low as 99 cents; school supplies, student reference notebooks, and fun activities; adult favorites, including fiction and nonfiction bestsellers; educational software and activities; posters, bookmarks, cards games, plush characters; and more!

Classroom Wish Lists help build classroom libraries

Each teacher puts together a Classroom Wish List to enable families help teachers build classroom libraries and connect kids with books they want to read. It’s fun, easy, and rewarding, and it’s your chance to grant wishes for both students and teachers.

What do you sell at the Book Fair?

At the Book Fair, we not only sell children’s books but cookbooks, sport books, computer games, posters, etc. It is a great opportunity to do Christmas shopping for those on your Christmas List.

Do the classes go to the Book Fair during school hours?

A schedule is made for each class to view the Book Fair and a Wish List can be sent home so you know which items your child was interested in.

How do I pay for my purchases?

You can send money (preferably a check so cash will not get lost) in with your child so they can purchase their items. And, you can also pay by credit card on Saturday, Dec. 6th.

Can anyone go to the Book Fair?

Invite your friends and family to come with you on Saturday, Dec. 6th.

How can I help?

Consider volunteering. It is a great opportunity to get to know the Transfiguration community better. If you cannot make a particular time slot but can come at another time, we would love to have you participate in any way you can.

Can I get items gift-wrapped?

The 8th grade will be providing a gift wrapping service on Saturday, Dec. 6th as a community service project.

The book fair helps kids connects to the books they want to read . . . features a terrific assortment of books, hand-selected by book experts . . . helps build school, classroom, and home libraries . . . generates community involvement


Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale 2015

Come for the trees, but stay for the fun! Transfiguration School is holding its annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale fundraiser on Saturday, December 6th. There will be a large stock of farm-fresh, competitively-priced Christmas trees of all sizes as well as a wide selection of wreaths and garland. Shoppers will enjoy complimentary cider, hot chocolate or warm coffee & holiday music. And, don’t forget, wreaths and garlands also make great gifts! Tell your families, friends and neighbors.

 


The 350 Club

“The 350 Club” is a fundraiser that helps to fund the school’s annual fuel bill.

So how does it work?

The 350 Club is actually not a club at all. It was named The 350 Club because each year we look for 350 participants from the school and parish community to participate in this fundraiser. Our “Club” has been working for our school and our children for more than 25 years.

How much does it cost?

With a $60 tax-deductible contribution, a “member” has 125 chances to win cash prizes totaling $7,100.

When are the drawings held?

There are 5 drawings each month for $20, $40, and $60. In May, the final 5 grand prizes in the amounts of $100, $200, $300, $500 and $1,000, are picked and announced. So, you have many chances to win!

What does this fundraiser support?

After all of the prizes are awarded, the remaining money is given to the school, earmarked to pay the fuel bill. Last year, our school fuel bill was over $29,000 and the 350 Club raised $12,100 towards it. You can see why your participation in this fundraiser is vital.

How do I join the 350 Club?

To participate, all you need to do is send in a check for $60 made payable to “Transfiguration School – 350 Club”.

How do I know if I am a winner?

If your number is pulled, you will be notified.

Scrip Program

Earn money for Transfiguration School without spending a single additional penny.  Plan ahead and give scrip gift cards for the holidays!

What is Scrip?

Scrip cards are gift certificates from national and local retailers. They are the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our Scrip program including The Gap, Land’s End, Staples, Sports Authority and many, many others.

How much does it cost?

The beauty of Scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work for Transfiguration School. You earn money for our School without spending an additional penny.

How do I place an order?

To order Scrip, simply fill out the Scrip Order Form and return it to school along with payment. It’s that simple!

How does it work?

  • Scrip-participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to Transfiguration School at a discount. School families buy the certificates for full face value, redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue.  Everyone benefits:
  • The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business.
  • School families get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling.
  • Transfiguration School gets a regular source of revenue.
