Dear Parents,

Please don’t forget that we are off on Monday, January 16th in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  The students have been doing projects and reports on Dr. King, and remembering this important Civil Rights leader.  We can also use Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a chance to start the year off right by making an impact in our community, reminding the students to volunteer their time and talents to others. Please continue at home what we have been going over in school honoring Dr. King.

Congratulations – to our 8th Grade students!  They have been receiving their High School acceptance letters, and I must say how proud both myself and the faculty and staff are of them on these acceptances and scholarship achieved.

Dear Parents,

Welcome back and Happy New Year!  On behalf of the faculty and staff of Transfiguration School, we would like to thank all of the families who participated in the Faculty Christmas gift.  We are so greatful and appreciate your generosity.

New Report Cards – As mentioned in one of my earlier emails, the Archdiocese has offered to hold meetings for parents to attend to discuss the changes on the report cards which will be incorporated on the 2nd quarter Report Cards.  The meeting was held last night in Our Lady of Sorrows in White Plains.  Unfortunately, only one parent from Transfiguration School attended this meeting with Ms. Fazzino and I.  The changes on the report cards will allow us to communicate more clearly about what standards your child has mastered and the areas in which he/she needs more practice and support.  Read More →

Dear Parents,

I hope you had an opportunity to come to the Christmas festivities last weekend here at The Transfiguration School.  Last year I came, and talked and met grandparents, siblings, but this year, I decided to volunteer my time to this event.  So I know how much effort, hours, coordination, dedication, and committment went into make this a successful event.  There is no way I can begin to thank the committee chairs and the Parents’ Board for all their support.  Mr. & Mrs. Rooney along with Mr. & Mrs. Agro, Mrs. Bourekas, Mr. Croce, Mrs. Doyle, Mrs. Kennedy, &  Mrs. McNally, and all the many volunteers that came in to work the book fair, craft fair, and Tree and Wreath sale and sell food.    If you happen to see any of the volunteers that helped out, please thank them for all their hard work to our school. Dear Parents,

Thank you to all the parents that came to the Parents’ Guild meeting this week. One of the topics we discussed was report card distribution and conferences.  This year, Report Card distribution and Conferences will be held on Thursday, December 1st from 3:00p.m. to 7:30p.m.  It is mandatory that every parent come and get their child’s report card in the office and meet with their child’s teacher.  We will be sending out more information shortly, about how to sign up for conferences.  We also discussed arranging some parent events such as a paint night, yoga class etc.  Again, as that information is available I will forward it to you.

Today all the students attended an assembly called “The Show of Love”, this is one of the students favorite assmeblies. The Show of Love is an assembly program that specializes in character education for schools. Read More →
